-Crops in the Camrose region are being noticed by some of Canada’s most well-known agrologists and farmers.
Saskatchewan’s Kevin Hursh was recently in Alberta on business, and happened to be in the Camrose area, where he says the crops are “astounding”:
“The thing is, when you aren’t from an area, maybe how things are looking right now isn’t too far off the average, because really nice crops are often grown in the region, but the crops I’ve seen, those are some of the nicest crops I’ve seen all year. Huge yield potential, I would say.”

-Some farmers in the Netherlands were busy dumping manure and garbage along highways yesterday, to protest the government’s plan to cut nitrogen emissions by severely restricting how much fertilizer and cattle they can have.
They say those plans are threatening their ability to grow food and will put them out of business.
Farmers say they’re being unfairly targeted.
They say transportation and construction are huge emitters of greenhouse gases, yet the rules they face aren’t anywhere near as strict.

-An Alberta vet has been honoured for dedicating his entire career to Canadian cattle.
Dr. Brian Taylor was given this year’s Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Merck Veterinary Award, for more than four decades of cattle work.
Taylor started many herd-health management programs for dairy and beef producers in Ontario, and he brought that knowledge to Alberta when he moved to Nanton.
