Starting this Saturday, masks will be mandatory in all public indoor spaces in Edmonton. By a margin of 10-3, city councillors voted to follow the lead of Calgary by making face coverings mandatory in all privately owned businesses as like retail stores…..rec centres….and restaurants, except of course when you’re eating and drinking. Masks would not be necessary in schools in the city, hospitals or work areas where employees have no contact with patrons. The city of Calgary passed a similar motion earlier this month and the town of Banff is imposing a similar bylaw starting this weekend.
