-The St. Albert Fire Department is going to start recruiting advanced-care paramedics to help work as firefighters.
The plan is to provide them with standard firefighting training, with the department looking for four new recruits next year.

The city will be opening a new fire hall in the north end, in 2025.

-There have been calls to review how the Edmonton Police helicopter is being used, as some people say the noise from it circling at night is preventing them from sleeping.
Police say the chopper is used to track thieves and other suspects and keep people safe, but they do understand the noise can be disruptive.
